Hi all,

I’m really pleased to welcome a colleague and friend of mine who has very kindly guest blogged today. Steve Carroll from Moonshadow Therapies is a Reiki Practitioner who offers his services in Cardiff and Carmarthen. In today’s post he is exploring how Reiki connects with colours.

Reiki & Colour

Reiki is where the therapist channels the Universal Life Force Energy that connects with all living things and allows the body’s natural healing ability to function more effectively. Reiki works on the physical, mental and spiritual and it begins by connecting with the 7 main chakra’s and their relating colours which are:

Crown – Violet
Third Eye – Indigo
Throat – Sky Blue
Heart – Green/Pink
Solar Plexus – Yellow
Sacral – Orange
Base/Root – Red

Apart from balancing the chakra’s they also relate to areas of the physical and mental that may require attention.

During a treatment the client often sees colours and although these colours relate to what they maybe going through, they are also a guide of what colours that need to be present at that moment in time.
Seeing colours during a treatment is a tranquil and harmonious experience that adds to the relaxing aspect of Reiki.

The 7 main chakra’s are the energy centres of the body. Listed below is the colour and what its linked to;

Indigo: Intuition, Wisdom, Vision

Sky Blue: Communication, Self expression

Green: Feeling, Emotions

Yellow: Action, Purpose, Personal power and control

Orange: Relationship to self and others

Red: Stability, Security, Survival

Its important to remember that our lives and emotions are constantly changing, therefore balancing your chakra’s and relevant colours is an ongoing practice.

Being aware of the Self and the changes that occur during the day allow us to be drawn to the colours that we may need. If you are unable to add colour via clothing or jewellery and you are unable to meditate on a particular chakra and its colour, just simply put it out into the universe as a thought.

As we know, there are more colours than just the 7 major ones, if you are intuitive you will be naturally drawn to the colour you need. If you struggle to find the colour you need there is plenty of information out there that can help you and by having a therapy that connects with your chakra’s and/or colours can help.

It just leaves me to say, enjoy your journey and experiences with bringing colour into your world.
